Who is Fernando?

Fernando is a consultant in policy and program evaluation; strategic, operational and tactical analysis; executive management, and project management. He is also a researcher in social sciences, and a human rights activist .

Background

Fernando is a lawyer graduated from the Faculty of Jurisprudence at the Rosario University in Colombia (Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario), and holds a Master's in Geography from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He has a background in academic research, executive management, project management, political science, legal conciliation, and human rights.

Experience

Fernando has worked as a social researcher, consultant, and attorney-at-law. He has also worked as legal conciliator, legal manager, legal secretary, project manager, lecturer, teaching assistant, and research assistant.

Research Interests

Fernando’s research interests are specially related to the strategic significance of geography in the internal armed conflicts of Latin America (Geopolitics), human migrations, forced migrations, refugee resettlement, and the political and social issues associated with crimes against humanity.

As a graduate student, Fernando has conducted research in two areas: challenges and difficulties of integration of immigrants into new societies, and human rights crimes as a military policy.
